At Sydney Roof Restoration, we have twelve years of experience in cement tiles replacement. Our dedicated team has devised seven major steps that act as a guide to their work thus ensuring quality workmanship and consistency in their work.

The first step involves the removal of all the cracked, defective and chipped tiles from your roof. This step must be thoroughly done to ensure that no defective tile goes unnoticed because if one is left and repair is done, then the roof will still have a loop hole through which erosion can take place thus nullifying the whole restoration process.
After removing all the worn out tiles, the second step entails using a high pressure clean on the roof to remove all forms of debris, unwanted materials that have accumulated during removal of the defective tiles in step one. Dust that had also accumulated in the gutters is also removed and they are thoroughly cleaned.
The third step involves rebedding your ridge caps. This means that a total overhaul is done. The caps are lifted and the old cement is removed. A new bed of cement is then laid carefully and meticulously so as to ensure a firm foundation.
The fourth step is the repointing process. At this stage, a viscous liquid called the flexible repointing compound is applied as a second layer by trowel over the sand and cement. This ensures firmness of the tiles making the sand and cement more compact.
Sterilization is then done as the fifth step. A fungicide is applied on the tiles to kill all the fungiĀ sporesĀ eliminating moss and lichen which, if left to thrive, will erode the roof wearing it out in due time.
Sealing is the sixth step. This involves spraying the tiles with either a water based primer or enamel sealer. The type of seal to apply is determined by the age and condition of the old tiles.
The seventh and the last step is the coating process. This entails application of two coats of Delux Acra Tex roofing membrane on the surface to finish up the restoration process. This is a step that needs a lot of professionalism because if it is done professionally, it can prolong the life span of the roof. The essence of this finish is to ensure the old tiles that were leaking are no longer porous. After this final touch, then your roof is transformed and looks more attractive.
